All persons born on or after 1 January 1980, who are to drive a boat with more than 25 hp or more than 8 meters in length, must have a boat driver's licence. Persons born before 1980 are exempt from the requirement for a boat driver's licence. They can guide boats up to 15 meters without having to show a qualification certificate.
